Located to the south-west of Cordobá, close to the city of Alta Gracia, the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén first opened its doors in 1968 when the Argentine Turismo Carretera staged the first of its races there.

The circuit is named after Oscar Cabalén, who raced in Turismo Carretera in the 1950s and 1960s and was a big supporter of the then-new circuit. He died in 1967, shortly before the circuit opened.

By 1992 the circuit condition had deteriorated and it closed, with the track surface in a very poor condition. Five years later the circuit was completely renovated with a new layout and pitlane facilities, and racing resumed in 1998.

The configuration has remained unchanged since the 1990s and the circuit now regularly hosts races in Super TC2000.
