Stephen Jelley joins Un-Limited Motorsport for remainder of 2025

Stephen Jelley will switch to racing a CUPRA Leon for the remainder of the British Touring Car Championship season, after joining Un-Limited Motorsport from Croft onwards.

Jelley effectively steps into the seat vacated by Max Hall earlier in the month, and the moves comes after One Motorsport announced it would not be competing at either Croft or Knockhill, citing concerns of Team Owner Steve Dudman’s health.

Jelley, 43, has had one of the worst starts to a season of his BTCC career, spanning ten seasons, in 2025, managing just four top-fifteen results in the first half of the season, better only than his 2017 and 2018 campaigns.

He will partner Dexter Patterson and Nicolas Hamilton at the Kent-based team for the rest of 2025.

“Obviously, it came as a complete surprise to be joining Un-Limited Motorsport, but I’m thankful to be given the opportunity at very short notice,” said Jelley.

“In speaking with the team owners, Bob [Sharpless] and Matt [Edwards], it’s clear they are hard workers who want the very best for their team and to move forwards competitively.

“The BTCC is incredibly competitive, and this team is relatively young, but I’m confident we can make big strides with the work ethic they are showing.

“If I can use my experience to guide their effort in the correct direction then anything is possible.

“I have not driven the car yet so don’t know where the starting point is, but I’ll be looking to progress quickly.”

Bob Sharpless, Team Owner, hopes that previous race winner Jelley can help the team to move forwards.

“We are delighted to welcome Stephen to our team, and hope we can all move forward together,” said Sharpless.

“Stephen is a proven driver in this championship and many others; we wish him all the best for the rest of the season and hope for a long-lasting team and driver relationship”
