Alistair Camp, a race winner in the TCR UK series in 2023, will return for this weekend’s Silverstone finale, racing the same Hyundai i30 N TCR he took part in four races last year in.
Camp, 33, took part in two events with the Pro Alloys Racing Team in 2023, which resulted in a victory in only his third race on the Donington Park National circuit in September.
This time, Camp’s car will be prepared by JH Racing as he returns to the grid for the season’s final meeting on the Silverstone International layout this weekend, partnering the team’s regular drivers Callum Newsham and Darron Lewis.
Camp has been competing in the TCR UK-supporting Civic Cup with Area Motorsport in 2024, where he has claimed three wins and currently sits third overall in the championship standings.
“We have enjoyed a good year in the FN2 in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup this year and I fancied bringing the Hyundai out of the garage for the season finale, to see how we fare against the TCR UK grid,” said Camp.
“JH Racing will be running the car this weekend. We’ve talked for a long time about working together and the stars have aligned to return to TCR UK.
“I’m looking forward to being back on the grid, to see if we can pick up where we left off last year.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines believes that the expansion of JH Racing to three cars shows an increase in interest in the series.
“It’s great to see Alistair returning to TCR UK for the season finale at Silverstone,” said Lines. “He’s a big personality in the paddock and has made a big impact each time he’s raced in the championship.
“It’s good to see JH Racing expanding to run three cars this weekend, showing that interest is growing as more people want to go touring car racing.”
