Cyan Racing to run unchanged driver line-up in new Geely Preface era

Cyan Racing will run an unchanged driver line-up in this year’s FIA TCR World Tour, as the squad embarks on a new era running the Geely Preface TCR.

With the change in manufacturer, from Lynk & Co to Geely, Cyan Racing will keep the rest of its operation unchanged, as it continues to field four cars for Thed Björk, Yann Ehrlacher, Santiago Urrutia and Ma Qing Hua.

The quartet finished the 2025 season occupying four of the top five spots in the drivers’ standings, with Ehrlacher ultimately emerging as champion ahead of Björk, the Frenchman securing his third World Touring Car title and his first of the TCR World Tour era.

Cyan Racing has had a relationship with Geely since the Chinese manufacturer purchased Volvo in 2010, when the team, then known as Polestar Racing, was competing with Volvo cars in Scandinavia.

Since then, the team has run Volvo, Lynk & Co and now Geely campaigns in international touring car racing.

“Preface represents the next generation of Geely Auto design, engineering and performance,” said Victor Yang, Senior Vice President of Brand Communication at Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

“Bringing this model into international touring car racing reflects our confidence in the product and our long-term commitment to motorsport and the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour as a platform to strengthen our brand among global consumers.”

Christian Dahl, owner of Cyan Racing, is hoping to continue winning ways with the new brand, following on from drivers’ championship successes with Volvo in 2017 and Lynk & Co in 2020, 2021 and 2025.

“Our partnership with Geely Group has redefined what is possible in touring car racing over the past decade,” added Dahl.

“We have a history with two regulations, three brands and eleven world titles so far. The new Preface TCR is the most ambitious car we have developed together, and we are determined to continue our winning tradition on the world stage.”

Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Geely Group Motorsport, highlighted the evolving nature of the Cyan Racing – Geely partnership.

“This project is a natural evolution of our collaboration with Cyan Racing,” said Murdzevski Schedvin. “Together, we have achieved extraordinary success, and with the Preface TCR we aim to raise the bar once again by combining cutting-edge engineering with a driver line-up capable of delivering at the highest level.”

Marcello Lotti, President of WSC, is pleased to see a new manufacturer entering into TCR competition.

“The arrival of a new manufacturer-backed program with a car like the Preface TCR underlines the strength and global appeal of the TCR concept,” said Lotti.

“Geely Group and Cyan have already set benchmarks in this category, and we are excited to see them push the competition even further.”

Meanwhile, all four of the team’s drivers are freshly motivated to deliver success for the new Chinese car.

Thed Björk: “It’s incredibly motivating to start a new chapter with a brand-new car. We’ve built something special with this team over the years, and I’m ready to fight for more titles with the Preface TCR.”

Yann Ehrlacher: “We have a strong legacy to defend, but also a new challenge ahead. The Preface TCR looks very promising, and I’m excited to get the season underway.”

Santiago Urrutia: “This team feels like family, and we know how to win together. The goal is clear: continue the success and push even harder in 2026.”

Ma Qing Hua: “To represent Geely with a car derived from the Preface is a proud moment. We have everything in place to compete at the front and make this project a success.”
