TOCA announces 2026 TOCA BTCC Licence holders

TOCA has published the list of TOCA BTCC Licence [TBL] holders for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship season, featuring a total of 26 TBLs.

Nine teams are listed as holding TBLs, which is one more than in the previous season thanks to the addition of Plato Racing, Jason Plato’s eponymous new team.

That has resulted in an additional two TBLs being given out, as the only other changes compared to the previous season are West Surrey Racing dropping one TBL to three, whilst Power Maxed Racing has gained a TBL to now also hold three, with the team revealing plans to run three new-build Audi S3s in 2026.

“This confirmation solidifies our intent to expand the team and marks a massive step up for our operation,” said the team in a statement. “We are aiming to run three of our brand-new Audi S3 Saloons on the grid, fighting for the overall championship across the season.”

One Motorsport remains on the list of TBL holders, despite missing the second half of the 2025 season.

Teams must hold a TBL for each car taking part in the championship, although TBLs can be bought, sold and loaned between teams.

“The continued strength of the entry is testament to the ongoing success of the BTCC,” said BTCC Chief Executive Alan Gow.

“Much of our tried and tested format will remain of course, but with some new cars, teams and drivers, as well as the introduction of the qualifying race on Saturdays, there’s a lot to be excited about for the season ahead.”

The official entry list will be published in April.
