Cyan Racing, the most successful team in TCR, will start a new chapter in 2026, as it designs and builds the all-new Geely Preface TCR race car for the FIA TCR World Tour.
The Swedish team has competed in TCR since 2019, when it ran the Lynk & Co 03 TCR built by Geely Group Motorsport.
Since then, the team has secured three FIA World Touring Car titles, whilst it has also claimed 19 titles in Scandinavia and a total of 12 World Titles, including Teams’ and Manufacturers’ crowns.
Cyan Racing recently secured the FIA TCR World Tour drivers’ title with Yann Ehrlacher, as well as scooping the Teams’ title.
“Today marks a key milestone for Cyan Racing and we are delighted to evolve our successful and longstanding cooperation with Geely,” said Christian Dahl, founder and owner of Cyan Racing.
“The fact that we will start our 30th consecutive year of automotive manufacturer cooperation is deeply motivating for all members of Cyan Racing, as we embark the journey with Geely to once again challenge the world’s best in touring car racing.”
The announcement marks the start of a multi-year cooperation with Geely. Cyan Racing has a long history of working with top automotive manufacturers, stretching back to 1996 as Flash Engineering when it worked with Volvo, a brand who it partnered until 2017 before partnering with other brands in the marque’s parent group Geely.
The Geely Preface (known as Xingrui in China) is available as both an internal combustion engine vehicle and a hybrid. It was ranked number one in the A-segment for ICE saloons in China in 2024.
“This is a thoroughly inspiring and challenging project to tackle, adding to Cyan Racing’s proud history of successful in-house developed race cars such as the Volvo S60 TC1,” said Fredrik Wahlén, CEO and Team Manager of Cyan Racing.
“We have already started design and construction of the new Geely Preface TCR race car at our headquarters in Sweden.
“We have a tight schedule which is proceeding according to plan and our aim is for the first Geely Preface TCR to make its track debut at the beginning of the new year.”
Cyan Racing will both develop and run the car in next year’s TCR World Tour.
“We are very excited to bring the Geely Preface to international competition and to continue our cooperation with Cyan Racing,” explained Head of Geely Group Motorsport Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin.
“Cyan Racing will act as the development team for the new car, and it will also field the Geely Preface car in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour from 2026 season as team Geely Cyan Racing.”
The car will be revealed in early 2026, ahead of a racing début in next year’s FIA TCR World Tour. The identity and size of the driver line-up is yet to be confirmed.
Marcello Lotti, Chairman of the WSC Group and owner of the FIA TCR World Touring rights, added: “I’m very much looking forward to its participation in next year’s races.
“Geely has consistently performed exceptionally well in the highest level of touring car racing. I can’t wait to see the Preface on the track.”
