Nick Halstead will return to the British Touring Car Championship grid for the remainder of the 2025 season, having agreed a deal to race a Vauxhall Astra with Power Maxed Racing.
Halstead, 53, made his BTCC debut at Croft in 2021 and went on to complete two full seasons in 2023 and 2024, all with EXCELR8 Motorsport.
Halstead has scored a best finish of seventh out of out of five points finishes in his 63-race BTCC career.
He will run in the #50 Astra alongside Mikey Doble, starting at Brands Hatch this weekend.
As a late entry, TOCA provided special approval for the entry which falls outside of the regular TOCA BTCC Licence [TBL] entry policy, with all stakeholders also providing unanimous agreement.
“Joining Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing alongside Mikey Doble truly is my Dream Drive come true,” said Halstead.
“But what makes this partnership special isn’t just fulfilling my personal racing ambitions – it’s about creating dream experiences for fans.
“I’m not here claiming to be the fastest driver on the grid – I’m here to have fun and bring fans closer to the sport they love through our DreamDrive platform.”
Adam Weaver, Team Principal of Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing, praised Halstead’s approach to going racing.
“Nick’s DreamDrive vision aligns perfectly with our ambitions to connect with fans in meaningful ways.
“His digital-first mindset and innovative approach to fan experiences complement our racing programme.”
