24 cars will take to the track for the opening round of the FIA TCR World Tour in Mexico next weekend, with 11 full-season entrants joined by 13 drivers from the Mexican series.
The opening event of the year will take place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, marking the first time that FIA World Touring Cars has visited Mexico since the World Touring Car Championship last went to Puebla in 2009.
The event will feature three races over two days, with qualifying and the opening race taking place on Friday, followed by the second and third races on Saturday.
With some Mexican teams entering more than one driver in a car, as is common in the national series, it means they must nominate which driver will take part in which race in advance.
Hyundai’s Norbert Michelisz is the reigning FIA TCR World Tour champion, having bagged both of the first two titles in the series, which began in 2023.
BRC Hyundai has entered three cars for the full season, with Cyan Racing putting in four Lynk & Co cars. There will be two GOAT Racing Hondas and two SP Compétition CUPRAs, the Spanish marque featuring for the whole year for the first time in 2025.
Of the local entries, six will be running CUPRAs, four running Audis, two running Hyundais and one in a Honda.
