The 2026 FIA TCR World Tour will kick off at the Misano World Circuit in May, after the circuit was confirmed by WSC following a late change to the series’ calendar.
The planned season opener in Mexico had to be cancelled last month, with a replacement event being arranged in Europe in its place, with Misano in Italy having been selected.
The circuit, near the Adriatic Riviera, has been ever-present on the TCR Italy calendar since its inception, and in recent years has also played host to other major regional touring car championships – last year TCR Europe made a visit, whilst in 2019 and 2019 the DTM held races at the track.
However, the arrival of the TCR World Tour on 8 – 10 May marks the first time a world-level touring car series has visit the 4.2-kilometre circuit.
“We are delighted to add Misano to the list of iconic venues that host the 2026 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour,” said WSC President Marcello Lotti.
“With its layout and state-of-the art facilities, this circuit has always been one of the best to showcase the thrilling show of touring car racing.
“At the same time, it offers competitors and fans the opportunity to experience the charm of one of Italy’s most beautiful regions, combining world-class motorsport with the unique atmosphere of the Adriatic Riviera.
“We wish to thank ACI Sport and its newly elected President for welcoming the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour. We are confident the event will deliver plenty of exciting races and we are looking forward to continuing our friendly cooperation in the future.”
Andrea Albani, Managing Director Misano World Circuit, says the FIA series will be well-received at the venue.
