Jenson O’Neill-Going will return to the TCR UK series in 2026 after signing a deal to race a Honda Civic Type-R FL5 TCR run by Power Maxed Racing for the full season.
O’Neill-Going, 16, broke the record for being the youngest driver to compete in TCR UK last year, also becoming the youngest-ever touring car driver in the UK.
He made his début in the Brands Hatch season finale, finishing 12th in race two of the weekend to give the ageing Subaru WRX STi a points finish in its last TCR race.
He will now join Power Maxed Racing for the 2026 season, getting behind the wheel of a JAS Motorsport-built Honda and teaming up alongside the already-announced Rod McGovern, who will race in CUPRA machinery.
O’Neill-Going’s announcement expands the number of Hondas on the grid to five for the 2026 season, which begins at Brands Hatch this weekend.
“I am incredibly excited to be competing in my first full TCR UK campaign with Power Maxed Racing, driving the Honda FL5,” said Northamptonshire-based O’Neill-Going.
“This marks my first full senior season in racing, and I couldn’t be more motivated for the challenge ahead.
“The car is incredible to drive, with some familiar characteristics from other front wheel drive touring cars I have driven but it’s on another level.
“I am proud to be joining the Power Maxed Racing family. They are a strong, knowledgeable, and passionate team, and I’m ready to give it everything this season.
“This also marks my first full season stepping away from my family-run team, JamSport Racing, owned by my dad, Jamie Going, where I secured the 2024 Fiesta Junior Championship.
“It’s been a huge part of my journey so far, and I can’t thank the team enough for getting me to where I am today.
“I extend a huge thank you to everyone working behind the scenes who has made this opportunity possible. I truly appreciate all the support. And of course, thank you to my sponsors Aalco and Mark Webb Building Ltd for backing me on this journey.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomed O’Neill-Going back to the grid for 2026.
“It’s great to see Jenson confirm his 2026 entry,” added Finlan. “He broke the record for being the youngest river ever to compete in TCR UK during the 2025 season finale and now has the best chance possible to go out and prove the ability that he has already shown during his career as he joins Power Maxed Racing for his first full assault on the championship.
“Power Maxed Racing are a powerhouse in Touring Car Racing in the UK, and their record speaks for itself, especially in TCR UK.
“Working with Jenson and the Honda FL5 adds another high-quality entry to what is already looking to be the most competitive season yet for the championship. I look forward to seeing how Jenson progresses this year.”
