Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport to run a pair of Toyotas in 2026

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport will partner with Speedworks Motorsport in the 2026 British Touring Car Championship, fielding a two-car Toyota Corolla effort for two new drivers.

It marks a departure from working with West Surrey Racing, with whom MB Motorsport has enjoyed the bulk of its success over the past four seasons, culminating in securing the 2024 drivers’ title with Jake Hill.

With Hill having departed the BTCC at the end of the 2025 season, Mark Blundell’s outfit will now also change teams for next year, as it joins forces with Speedworks Motorsport.

Having operated a one-car team during its BMW years since 2022, MB Motorsport also expands to two cars for the first time since 2021.

Despite a change in drivers, team and car, the squad will, however, continue its partnership with Laser Tools for a fourth consecutive season.

Renowned engineer Craig Porley will also continue with the team, having helped Hill to the drivers’ title last season.

“We are delighted to be unveiling the next chapter in the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport journey,” said Sporting Director Blundell.

“It has been a long-held ambition to increase our programme to two cars – we are proud to be making that step in 2026 and are thankful to the continued support of our partners who have made this progression possible.

“Making the move to the Corollas alongside Speedworks Motorsport in 2026 has been the product of a huge amount of consideration and review.

“From our very first conversation, these discussions have been very productive, and it really feels like a powerful partnership where we can build and succeed together.

“Retaining the engineering expertise of Craig Porley is a major part of the MB Motorsport puzzle for 2026, and we look forward to him continuing to drive forward our on-track performance.

“We are very happy with the driver lineup that we have managed to secure, and we are looking forward to making these announcements soon.”

Christian Dick, Owner of Speedworks Motorsport, is looking forward to working with Blundell and his partners in 2026.

“Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport have been one of the series’ front-runners and big players in recent years and we are proud that they have chosen Speedworks Motorsport to support them operationally in 2026,” added Dick.

“Mark and the team have a fantastic reputation for holding themselves to a high standard both on and off the track and together, I am sure, we will make a powerful combination.”

The team will reveal the identities of its two drivers “very soon”.
