HMO Customer Racing to compete in final four FIA TCR World Tour events

Three-time TCR Australia champions HMO Customer Racing will compete in the final four events of the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour, with reigning TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan joined by rookie Ryan MacMillan.

With the TCR Australia series in turmoil following a change of promoter, the Hyundai team has opted to compete in the final four Asian events of the TCR World Tour, starting with the event in Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park next weekend.

The team will then take to the Inje Speedium circuit in South Korea with both drivers, before MacMillan takes on the Zhuzhou International Circuit in China, with Buchan forced to miss the event due to a prior commitment, instead being replaced by another driver.

The team will return to fielding cars for both Buchan and MacMillan at the season finale on the streets of Macau in November.

Two-time TCR Australia champion Buchan is looking forward to taking on the regular international TCR World Tour drivers in more than one event.

“With two championships in the bag, my focus this year has always been on making a big impression during the international events at The Bend and Macau,” said Buchan.

“While it’s unfortunate that I’ll have to miss the races in China, it’s exciting to have another shot racing against the World Tour drivers at Inje Speedium, the home of Hyundai.

“I really enjoyed the competition when the TCR World Tour last visited Australia in 2023 at Sydney Motorsport Park and Mount Panorama, when we debuted the Hyundai Elantra N.

“With more experience behind the wheel of that car now, and brand-new machinery, I have some unfinished business against the best in the world.”

MacMillan has gone from plans to make his début at a national-level to the international stage, with the rookie relishing the prospect.

“It definitely wasn’t part of the original plan, but it is mind-blowing to think that I’ll now be making my touring car début in a world championship,” said MacMillan. “That is amazing!

“I’m really looking forward to challenge of racing against world-class drivers and learning from Josh and the awesome team at HMO Customer Racing under an intense spotlight.

“I’m excited by the pressure. It’s the best competition I can have, and a great opportunity to accelerate my career.”
