One Motorsport to miss remainder of the 2025 BTCC season

One Motorsport has confirmed that it will not return to the British Touring Car Championship grid after all in 2025, ending its campaign after half a season.

The team released a statement a month ago announcing it was going to miss the trips north to Croft and Knockhill in August, citing the health of team boss Steve Dudman as a primary reason.

At the time the team said that “no fixed date” had been set for their return, but the team has now issued a statement saying that it is focussed on a return to the grid in 2026.

One Motorsport previously missed the entire 2024 season, taking a sabbatical due to budgetary challenges.

The team continues to cite the health of Dudman as a reason, whilst also implying there are “several factors” as a cause.

Cook is currently 13th in the drivers’ standings, having scored two podiums, although with nine races left to run it is likely he will drop several more positions in the overall classification by the end of the year. The 34-year-old had been in contention for the Independent drivers’ title before the team’s withdrawal.

The full statement reads:

“After careful consideration One Motorsport has determined that it will not participate in the remaining rounds of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

“This difficult decision has been made based on several factors, including the current health status of Team Owner Steve Dudman, as his involvement and support remain key in multiple areas for the team.

“We are now primarily turning our focus to the 2026 campaign, strengthening for the future operation, success and longevity of the team and its race cars. This will be achieved through the reinforcement of current commercial and technical partnerships, along with securing new partners, to ensure that when we return, One Motorsport is competing at the sharp end of Britain’s premier and most prestigious motorsport championship.

“We would like to thank our partners, supporters and loyal fans for their incredible ongoing support and backing this year, you’re the reason we do this, stick with us and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates on our 2026 return in due course.”
