Fire destroys Power Maxed Racing base

Fire has destroyed the headquarters of British Touring Car Championship and TCR team Power Maxed Racing, with team owner Adam Weaver revealing “everything has gone”.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire in the area around Bretforton Road, Evesham, around 11:50 BST.

Ten fire crews were sent to the scene, with smoke reportedly seen from several miles away.

Whilst no injuries have been reported, the cause of the blaze is unknown and business and team owner Adam Weaver confirmed the total destruction of his business and motorsport assets.

Numerous touring cars, believed to be TCR cars, can be seen burnt out in the fire-ravaged remains.

“Yes, sadly it’s true,” said Weaver via social media. “Today at 1pm I got a call to say that there was a big fire near our work premises.

“I headed over, as I approached, it was easy to see that we were the fire!

“I then had to stand there and watch as 20 years of blood, sweat and tears burnt to the ground in about 20 minutes.

“Absolutely everything has gone, the manufacturing warehouse, stock warehouse and possibly the saddest of all, the race team. There is nothing at all left. Not a thing.

“Yes I am gutted beyond belief for myself and my family but possibly more so for all the people who have been a part of this journey and care as much as I do.

“However for them, I won’t let this beat me. I will kick, fight, punch and damn near kill myself (again) to come back from this.

“I know I’ll be able to do this and succeed because I have lots of incredible human beings that will stand behind me and beside me to make sure that happens.

“We have a lot to do and no time to do it, but you’ll lose your money if you bet against us.”
