Tom Ingram leads the way in dry second practice

Team Vertu’s Tom Ingram laid down the benchmark in the second British Touring Car Championship practice session at Snetterton, lapping four tenths of a second quicker than anyone else.

After a damp first practice earlier in the day, second practice took place on a dry track, allowing Ingram to hit the top of the times just after the halfway stage.

He followed that up with an even quicker lap on his next run to post a 1 minute 54.509 second time, quicker than the qualifying lap record.

Restart Racing’s Daniel Lloyd was second in his newer-build Hyundai, ahead of Power Maxed Racing’s Mikey Doble in third, a mere 0.003 seconds back.

NAPA Racing UK’s Dan Cammish was fourth fastest, ahead of Team Vertu’s Adam Morgan in fifth and Laser Tools Racing’s Jake Hill, who had topped FP1 in the damp, in sixth.

Toyota’s Gordon Shedden left it late to go seventh, ahead of the second Restart Racing Hyundai of Chris Smiley in eighth.

The top ten was completed by Toyota’s Arón Taylor-Smith and James Dorlin, whilst 11th-fastest Daniel Rowbottom was the last driver within a second of the pace.

Qualifying gets underway at 15:10 BST.
