The dates for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship have been revealed almost a year before next season will get underway, with some minor adjustments to the order and gaps.
As has been the case for the past four seasons, Donington Park will kick off proceedings on the National layout on 18 – 19 April, one week earlier than in 2025.
Brands Hatch Indy is once again the second event of the year in early May, before the series heads to Snettertin in Norfolk later in the month, just as it has done every year since 2023.
Oulton Park in Cheshire is the fourth event, in early June, in the early summer slot it is has typically occupied since the 2010 season, save for a couple of COVID-impacted years.
Due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scheduling impacts for broadcaster ITV, there will then be a seven-week summer break before the fifth event at Thruxton in Hampshire on 25 – 26 July.
The next three events all come at two-week intervals, with Knockhill on 8 – 9 August, Donington Park Grand Prix on 22 – 23 August and Croft on 5 – 6 September, the latter in its latest position in the season, excluding the COVID years, since it rejoined the calendar in 1997.
Silverstone is on 26 – 27 September before the season concludes at the now-traditional finale on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on 10 – 11 October.
“The 2026 British Touring Car Championship calendar enjoys the tried and tested format from previous seasons, but with a slightly different flow of events to look forward to,” said BTCC Chief Executive Alan Gow.
“It is a very busy summer in the sporting calendar, particularly with the football World Cup, which presents ITV with some clashing commitments.
“However, it also gave us an opportunity to make some tweaks to the schedule, which includes the shift in dates to the likes of Thruxton and Croft.
“Once again, releasing the calendar to our teams, support races, stakeholders and the public this early is advantageous for all in forward-planning, whilst it also benefits the rest of the motorsport pyramid in the UK as they can also schedule their events with these dates in mind.”
