Sport77 announces new association with JAS Motorsport

Sport 77, founded by Will Powell, has announced a new association to increase support and access to Honda racing products in the UK, as well as a multi-car campaign in TCR UK.

Powell, 39, has already been announced as competing in this year’s TCR UK series in a Honda Civic Type-R FK7 TCR, along with team-mate Cedric Bloch in an adapted Audi RS3 LMS TCR.

Sport77 has confirmed it is to become an official agent for JAS Honda in the UK, supporting the importation of racing products and parts, with stock held in the UK.

The partnership will benefit from technical support from Italy-based JAS Motorsport, along with Sport77’s Chief Technical Officer Sean Hurley.

The organisation will also offer financial support via Moorgate Finance for the purchase of the JAS Motorsport and Honda products.

“I’m grateful to J.A.S Motorsport for their belief and endorsement of Sport77 as a new team that’s staffed by established experts in British motorsport,” said Sport77 CEO Powell.

“We can’t wait to showcase the Civic Type R TCR and NSX GT3 products to the best of our ability. Our experience of the cars and factory so far has been first-class, and we look forward to representing these values to our customer drivers and partners.”

Mads Fischer, Chief Operating Officer at JAS Motorsport , highlighted the importance of the UK market to the company.

“We are pleased to appoint Sport77 as our UK agent,” added Fischer. “We have similar associations in other countries and have realised the potential of combining the expertise we hold at JAS Motorsport with a partner who truly understands their local market.

“The UK has one of the world’s most important and thriving racing scenes and it was in TCR UK where we chose to give the latest Honda Civic Type R TCR its global debut last year.

“We hope to see many more JAS cars in the UK and this association with Sport77 should help us achieve this.”

The team, with a facility in Nottingham, has not confirmed which cars will form its additional entry, but is expected to announce two more drivers in the coming weeks.
