Galid Osman continues in TCR South America with W2 Pro GP

Brazilian racer Galid Osman will continue to race for W2 Pro GP in this year’s TCR South America series, as he seeks to also defend his TCR Brazil title.

Osman, 38, made his TCR début in 2023, immediately impressing at the wheel of one of the team’s CUPRAs as he scored a podium in his maiden race.

The São Paulo native would go on to end the year fifth overall in the standings, having claimed TCR South America victories at Interlagos and Velo Città, along with a TCR Brazil win at the latter venue, with a total of five podium finishes in the regional series to his name.

Osman previously had a long career in the Brazilian Stock Car series, spending more than a decade racing at home with a best finish of 14th overall in 2016.

“I am very happy to remain in W2 Pro GP for the 2024 season,” said Osman. “Last year we had a very productive championship.

“I hadn’t driven front-wheel drive cars for years and, after a few adaptation races, we managed to get the best out of the CUPRA in the second part of the calendar.

“The effort was rewarded with the TCR Brazil title in Cascavel and this fills us with motivation to start the year even stronger in 2024 and also fight for the South American championship.”

Serafin Taboas Jr, Team Manager of W2 Pro GP, is pleased to continue working with Osman for a second season.

“Galid believed in the TCR concept and the work of our team,” added Serafin. “He brought speed and good work dynamics and that made him soon join our W2 Pro GP family.

“We know what he is capable of and we look forward to competing once again for the team and driver titles in both TCR South America and TCR Brazil.”
