Felice Jelmini reunites with PMA Motorsport for 2023 TCR Europe

Italian racer Felice Jelmini will reunite with PMA Motorsport for a full-season campaign in this year’s TCR Europe series, switching to racing an Audi RS3 LMS TCR.

Jelmini, 27, made his début in the European championship at the start of the 2021 season, when he joined Sébastien Loeb Racing to campaign a Hyundai Elantra N TCR.

He stayed in the Elantra last year, but moved to Target Competition following SLR’s withdrawal from the series, improving on his ranking by one place in the drivers’ standings to end the year in 13th.

Jelmini has previously won races in TCR Italy. Having made his touring car début in late 2019, in 2020 he was a double winner in the Italian championship when he raced a Hyundai i30 N for PMA.

The 2023 season will thus be his first in touring car racing with a different brand, as PMA takes on a Gen-2 Audi RS3.

“I couldn’t ask for better for this 2023,” said Jelmini, who raced with PMA to third overall in the Renault Clio Cup Italia in 2017, second in 2018 and the overall title a year later.

“Running on a permanent basis with PMA Motorsport in TCR Europe has a really special meaning for me.

“I have been part of this wonderful family for seven years now with whom I have achieved important goals.

“We have a car which on paper should give us the possibility of playing it on equal terms with top-level opponents.

“We also have the necessary know-how to do well right away, combined with the determination and desire to write an important page in our history together.”

The 2023 TCR Europe season will get underway in Portugal on 28 – 30 April.
