ADAC unveils smaller TCR Germany calendar with two new circuits

The calendar for the 2023 ADAC TCR Germany series has been revealed, with the series set to stage only six events for the first time in its history.

Ever since being launched in 2016, TCR Germany has held 14 races across seven race weekends, even during the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season.

However, for the forthcoming season, the calendar has been heavily revised, being reduced to six events between April and September and mixing up the venues.

Gone are rounds in Austria at the Red Bull Ring and Salzburgring, whilst the Sachsenring in eastern Germany also does not feature this year for the first time in the series history.

Instead, the series will visit the German street circuit of the Norisring in Nuremberg for the first time, whilst Assen in The Netherlands is also on the bill as the season finale.

The season will get underway on 28 – 30 April at the Hockenheimring as part of the ADAC Racing Weekend, before moving to Oschersleben on 26 – 28 May to support the now-ADAC owned DTM.

The Nürburgring will host the third event from 30 June to 2 July as part of the ADAC Racing Weekend, followed by the first-ever visit to the Norisring a week later, once again supporting the DTM.

The series stays with the DTM for a visit to the Lausitzring from 18 – 20 August, before concluding at TT Circuit Assen on 1 – 3 September with the ADAC Racing Weekend in the series’ first visit to The Netherlands since 2019 when it raced at Zandvoort.

€120,000 of prize money is on offer this year, whilst the series is also using a fuel (Shell Blue Gasoline 98) comprising around 50% renewable components for the second year in a row.

Registration closes to entrants on 15 March 2023.
