This weekend’s planned second FIA eTouring Car World Cup event of the season at the Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey has been postponed at short notice.
The reason for the postponement was that “pre-event requirements were not fulfilled in time for the race to take place on this date” said Discovery Sports Events in a short statement.
The decision has been taken in consultation with the FIA, TOSFED (the Turkish ASN) and EMSO Sportif (the event promoter).
A new date will be communicated in due course, with the rescheduling planned for November 2022.
It means the next event will take place at the Hungaroring in June, again in conjunction with the FIA World Touring Car Cup.
From next year, the race in Turkey is planned to be held on a new street circuit in Istanbul.
