René Kircher completes ROJA Motorsport line-up in TCR Germany

ROJA Motorsport has confirmed that René Kircher will complete its three-car line-up in ADAC TCR Germany, driving the team’s Hyundai i30 N alongside Robin Jahr and Jessica Bäckman in the team’s Hyundai Veloster N cars.

Kircher will enter into his fourth season of racing in TCR Germany, having joined the series back in 2019.

Since then, the 21-year-old has secured two outright podium finishes, one in his début season in an Audi RS3 LMS, and another last year in a Volkswagen Golf GTi.

The German finished tenth overall in last year’s drivers’ championship standings, having missed the season finale at the Hockenheimring.

“I am looking forward to the season with ROJA Motorsport and the new challenges with the Hyundai i30N TCR,” said Kircher.

“My goal is the Junior Championship, but I also want to fight for the top positions in the overall standings.”

The decision to give the driver to Kircher came after ‘extensive driver screening tests’. Team Principal Robin Jahr is looking forward to working with Kircher.

“I already know René from last year in the TCR Germany,” said Jahr. “I am very happy that we are contesting this season together and I see a lot of potential, talent and ambition in him.

“I think a lot of René and I am sure that he is a hot candidate for the Junior Championship in his new Hyundai.”

Team Manager Andreas Klinge added: “I am happy to welcome René to our team! I have been watching him and his driving development for several years.

“Even more I am happy to be able to work with him now! I am absolutely sure that René is not only a hot candidate for the Junior title, but will also be at the front of the fight for the overall standings.”
