Silverstone has been confirmed as the venue for the official British Touring Car Championship season launch event once again this year, on 22 April.
For the second successive season, the Northamptonshire circuit will play host to official season launch media activities, as well as six hours of official testing.
All 29 cars entered for the 2021 BTCC will take to the Silverstone National circuit for the only official pre-season test day. It marks the first time that all teams and drivers are on the same circuit at the same time in the current year.
The official test session will be split into two segments; the first runs from 1000 to 1300, whilst the second runs from 1400 to 1700. Drivers will take part in media activities around and during the test session.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions in line with government guidance, no spectators will be permitted to attend the event, whilst media access is set to be ‘severely restricted’.
Entries for the 2021 BTCC closed at middy today (26 February), with TOCA being in possession of information for all 29 participants for the coming season.
