Aurélien Comte and Gilles Magnus have had all of their lap times deleted from qualifying, and as such, will start all three World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) races from the back row of the grid tomorrow.
Comte, who races Vuković Motorsport’s sole Renault Mégane RS TCR, was excluded from the session after his team breached parc fermé conditions by hooking the car up to a computer following the end of Q1.
Magnus’ Comtoyou Racing Audi, meanwhile, failed to meet the minimum ride height requirements during scrutineering.
Originally, Comte had qualified seventeenth fastest, while Magnus finished the afternoon in eleventh. Now though, instead of being well amongst the cut-throat midfield, the pair will start each race at the very back.
Engstler Motorsport’s newest recruit Nico Gruber also had a lap time deleted for track limits abuse, though the young Austrian’s position remained unaffected.
Four tenths of a second slower than fellow debutant José Manuel Sapag, and over half a second faster than Gàbor Kismarty-Lechner, Gruber will line-up for all three races in nineteenth position.
