Dan Lloyd aiming for victory from reverse-grid pole position

Brutal Fish Racing Team’s Dan Lloyd is aiming for another victory in TCR Europe from reverse-grid pole position at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today.

Lloyd, already a race-winner in the category this season last time out at Oschersleben, finished seventh in the Honda Civic Type R FK7 in yesterday’s opening race and starts alongside Gilles Magnus’ Audi RS 3 LMS at 12:30 CEST today.

The reigning TCR UK champion currently sits 12th overall in the standings and says his focus is now on strong individual race results.

He does feel, however, the Renault and Audi in particular will prove tough to beat, especially on straight line speed.

“I’m hoping to win, definitely; we had good pace in the dry in testing, we’re really strong at the start so the plan is to get a good one and keep it there,” Lloyd explained to TouringCars.net in Spain.

“We’re really weak in a straight line compared to the other cars, so we need to do a good job through the last two sectors and it’s going to be a case of managing the tyres, because you’ve got the Renault which is over a hundred kilos lighter than us, similarly with the Audi as well.

“It’s going to be tough, but definitely I’m going to be fighting for it. I’ve got nothing to really fight for in the championship, so I just care about what position I finish.”
