Dušan Borković disqualified from race two results after post-race paddock incident

Target Competition’s Dušan Borković has been disqualified from the results of the second TCR Europe race at the Red Bull Ring after he lost his temper when the cars returned to the paddock after the race.

Borković, who finished sixth in the opening race at the Spielberg circuit yesterday, was battling for the top five positions when he was spun out of the race by fellow Hyundai runner Nelson Panciatici on the final lap in race two.

The Serbian racer was disqualified from the Monza round of TCR Europe last year after a fight with title rival Mikel Azcona’s relative, for which he is still believed to be under observation for this season as a result.

Footage emerged of Borković sprinting over to confront Panciatici in the paddock post-race, but he mistook Panciatici’s car for his M Racing team-mate Natan Bihel.

The official decision by the stewards said: “The competitor had an inadmissable behaviour in the parc fermé after race 2, pushing a woman on a car, trying to tear off the front-left door in order to reach the driver of car #25.

It continued: “The competitor had an improper conduct and unsporting behaviour for the second time after the same situation at Monza 2018.”

As a result, Borković will be “referred to the parent ASN of the series, to competition ASN and to the FIA for further action.”
