BMW shows off new BMW 3 Series ahead of BTCC launch

BMW has taken the wraps off its new 3 Series contender for the 2019 British Touring Car Championship, showing the BMW M Motorsport livery which will adorn Colin Turkington and Tom Oliphant’s cars, and the Pirtek livery which Andrew Jordan will sport.

Ahead of the official BTCC media launch tonight (Tuesday) and the official BTCC test day on Wednesday, West Surrey Racing has shown off the new BMW 3 Series in official photographs.

Turkington will be aiming to defend his title in the new car, having lifted the title in a 125i M Sport last year, whilst Oliphant will be joining the team for a first year in a rear-wheel drive touring car.

Jordan once again sports the livery of his long-term sponsor Pirtek as he enters into a third season with the squad.

“It’s a great moment to see the incredible amount of hard work and long hours that everybody at WSR and our technical partners have put in, come to fruition as we present our new BMW 330i M Sports,” said Team Principal Dick Bennetts.

“They look like proper touring cars should on the surface, Nick Moss Design has done a fantastic job on the liveries, and under the skin we have a package that we believe can help us add to our 10 BTCC titles.

“We know we’ll be short on test mileage compared to most of the other teams come the start of the season, but that just means we’ll have to push ourselves even harder to make sure we’re in a strong situation as soon as possible.”
