Ma Qing Hua returns to Boutsen Ginion Racing for Macau

Ma Qing Hua will return to the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) for the season finale in Macau, getting back behind the wheel of the Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda Civic which was driven by Tiago Monteiro in Japan.

Shanghai racer Ma previously took to the wheel of the Belgian team’s car in the two races held in mainland China in September and October, taking the reins from Benjamin Lessennes.

Ma finished seventh in the final race on the streets of Wuhan, marking his only points finish to-date in WTCR.

He will get another chance to race in the series next weekend when he returns to the team for the Macau finale, having previously raced around the famous Circuito da Guia in 2014 and 2017 in the WTCC.

“I am very happy to return to the WTCR and to race the Honda Civic again,” said Ma. “Boutsen Ginion Racing is a strong team and made me feel very welcome in the events I raced in China.

“Having been through that familiarisation period will help me get up-to-speed much more quickly at Macau, as will the fact that this is the first track at which I have prior experience.

“Together we’ve already finished in the top ten so the aim is to have a strong weekend and continue the progress shown in Ningbo and Wuhan.”
