Matt Neal ‘going all out for victory’ in season finale

Matt Neal says he will be going ‘all out for victory’ in this weekend’s British Touring Car Championship season finale at Brands Hatch, as he hopes to end the first year with the FK8 Honda Civic on a high.

Both Neal and Halfords Yuasa Racing team-mate Dan Cammish are out of contention for the title in this year’s championship, meaning that all the duo have to play for this weekend is outright glory.

Neal heads into the meeting as the best-placed new Civic driver in ninth in the standings, having taken two wins this year.

Having slipped further back in the standings at Silverstone, with just one top ten out of the three races, Neal wants to bounce back at Brands to add to his four podiums this season.

“We come to the final round of the season feeling as determined as ever,” said Neal. “Silverstone didn’t live up to expectations thanks to circumstances out of our control, but it means we come to Brands Hatch with renewed optimism and a good shot at securing more silverware for the Halfords Yuasa Racing team.

“It’s been a very positive season, one that sets a good foundation going forward and I’m really excited about opportunity to unlock the full potential of the Civic Type-R (FK8) package.

“In the meantime, I’ll be going all out for victory at Brands Hatch to end the year in fine style!”
