Team Mulsanne has parted company with Gianni Morbidelli ahead of this weekend’s FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) triple-header at the Slovakiaring.
The ex-Formula 1 racer failed to score a point in any of the five meetings thus far behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR, with team-mate and compatriot Fabrizio Giovanardi similarly struggling.
A statement from the team read, “The whole team wants to thank the Italian driver for the contribution he has made up to the round in Portugal.
