Dan Lloyd to continue in TCR UK with additional backing

Dan Lloyd will seek to continue his unbeaten run in the inaugural TCR UK Series season after securing additional backing, with the Yorkshire racer to sport a new livery at Castle Combe next weekend.

Lloyd has enjoyed a perfect start to the TCR UK season, winning all six races to-date and taking all three pole positions.

But the Yorkshire-based driver’s continued participation has remained in doubt, as he tackled each event with WestCoast Racing on a round-by-round basis.

Lloyd has now secured additional backing from power tool accessory brand Abracs Ltd, with the 26-year-old to sport a new livery as a result at Castle Combe next weekend.

“Honestly, on and off track this season couldn’t have been more different,” said Lloyd.  “As soon as the elation of winning wears off you’re met with the possibility of not being able to compete in future races.

“It’s been a trying time and a season long mental struggle to keep focused on racing. It’s the side of touring car racing that the fans don’t see but it affects a lot of drivers and teams.

“I knew it was right when our lead mechanic overheard the conversation, held up an Abracs cutting disc and gave me the thumbs up.

“We signed the deal within the week which gave me a real boost for the Brands Hatch race as you could probably see on track.

“Now I can focus on what’s important for the rest of the season – winning more races”.
