Jean-Karl Vernay and Maxime Potty continued to dominate practice ahead of this weekends TCR Europe double-header at Spa-Francorchamps, with the former ahead once again.
Vernay’s Leopard Lukoil Team-run Audi RS 3 LMS posted a best lap of 2:30.534, 0.171 seconds clear of Potty’s Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR around the 4.3 mile circuit.
Julien Briche was a notable third in the Peugeot 308, ahead of joint championship leader Dusan Borkovic and his Target Competition stable-mate Kris Richard in the Hyundai i30 N TCRs.
Attila Tassi finally overcame travel complications to get behind the wheel of his Hell Energy with KCMG Honda Civic Type R FK7 and posted the sixth quickest time, though he was nearly 1.5 seconds off the pace.
Francisco Abreu was classified seventh, with Reece Barr, Josh Files and the other joint points leader of Mikel Azcona rounding out the top ten.
Given Vernay only set six timed laps across the half-hour session, his pace looks ominous heading into qualifying tomorrow, which is scheduled to get underway at 10:55 CEST.
