Colin Turkington aiming to carry over momentum at Oulton Park

Colin Turkington is aiming to carry the momentum over from his best weekend of the season thus far at Thruxton in front of a ‘special atmosphere’ at Oulton Park.

The Team BMW driver scored a hat-trick of top five finishes in Hampshire, as well as tripling his podium count so far, and arrives at the fourth event of the campaign 18 points adrift of standings leader Adam Morgan.

The Northern Irishman has tasted victory on six occasions at the 2.2 mile Cheshire venue, the most recent in 2016 when he claimed Team BMR’s maiden win with the Subaru Levorg GT.

“Oulton Park’s always been one of the circuits I enjoy most in the BTCC, not just because I’ve had a lot of wins there, but also because its location means we tend to see more fans come over from Northern Ireland for this event than almost anywhere else, and that creates a special atmosphere,” explained Turkington.

“Thruxton was my best weekend of the season so far and I’m sure we can use the momentum we gained there to continue to drive ourselves forward this time.”

The weekend gets underway with the opening free practice session tomorrow [9th June] at 09:30 BST.
