Josh Price will race in next weekend’s TCR UK meeting at Knockhill, with the 19-year-old getting behind the wheel of a Honda Civic TCR run by BMR Autoglym Academy.
Price is a regular full-season entrant in the British Touring Car Championship, where he races one of the team’s Subaru Levorg GT cars.
The youngster will now get a chance to race in TCR at the wheel of a Honda formerly raced by Finlay Crocker last year.
Price, who has won races in Renault Clios in 2015, will re-establish a rivalry with Hyundai racer Lewis Kent, who used to compete against Price in karting.
“I watched the opening round at Silverstone and the fact that we’d already got a TCR car meant it was an easy decision to do Knockhill,” said Price. “It’ll be great to see Lewis again, and I’m also looking forward to competing against Aiden Moffat and the others.
“I’m not making any predictions, but the racing at Silverstone looked to be pretty close and I’m excited to be joining TCR UK for one of the early rounds.”
TCR UK Championship Manager Jen Mouratsing hopes that Price will return for further events later in the season.
“We’re delighted to welcome Josh to TCR UK and we hope that his weekend with us will whet his appetite to increase his involvement in the championship in the weeks and months to come.”
