Danny Kroes and Dániel Nagy penalised after race two

Danny Kroes and Dániel Nagy were demoted after incidents in the second TCR Europe race at Zandvoort, with Kroes given a penalty to drop to fourth and Nagy dropped to 12th.

Kroes made contact with Tassi on the final lap of the race whilst battling for the final podium position, with the Dutchman forcing the Hungarian off the road on the exit of Turn 10.

The stewards deemed it to be an unfair move and dropped Kroes a position. He has waived his right to appeal.

Nagy made contact with Paulsen at Turn 7 on the fourth lap, sending the Norwegian into the barriers and out of the race. He was given a ten-second penalty, dropping him from ninth to 12th and losing him two points.

Nagy says that the early contact a couple of corners made his car unstable and led to the contact with Paulsen’s CUPRA.

“He was trying to pass me from the inside where I think there was not enough space for him,” explained Nagy to TouringCars.Net. “He was on the grass so he put himself in a position where he was pushing me to the left of the track whilst we were going over 140 kph.

“After that, he was about to give me space, but at the end of this long right-hander he came a little bit to the right, we touched, and I lost control for the minute. That made my car very much unstable and then we touched.

“For sure that was not how we wanted to finish the race, so I feel sorry for this accident but it started and then it happened.”

The penalty also gives Francisco Abreu and Maxime Potty their first points in TCR Europe.
