Pepe Oriola and Mat’o Homola hit with penalties after race three

Pepe Oriola and Mat’o Homola have been hit with 10-second post-race penalties after the final FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) race at the Hungaroring for exceeding track limits.

Oriola had originally finished the race in 12^th position, but the penalty drops him to 19^th, whilst Homola’s penalty drops him from 16^th to 20^th position.

The decisions will compound difficult weekends for both drivers, with neither having scored any points in the three races.

The penalties also highlight the strictness of the stewards on track limits, with 49 separate decisions being issued over the course of the weekend, the majority of which were related to track limits infringements.

Separately, in race two Fabrizio Giovanardi was handed a post-race 30-second penalty for contact with Team Mulsanne team-mate Gianni Morbidelli, dropping the Italian from 19th to 23rd.
