Daniel Lloyd cemented his early advantage atop the TCR UK Touring Car Championship standings after scything through from the fifth row of the grid to take a clean sweep of victories at Silverstone.
The WestCoast Racing Volkswagen Golf GTi made another electric start and seized the lead on the National Pits Straight from team-mate Andreas Backman after four laps before extending his lead to over five seconds at the chequered flag.
Aiden Moffat had defended valiantly from Backman and looked set to take another runner-up spot in the Laser Tools Racing-run Alfa Romeo Giulietta, but slowed with a mechanical fault in the final moments of the session.
The Swede duly came through to secure a 1-2 finish for WestCoast, with Pyro Motorsport’s Ollie Taylor coming home in third behind the wheel of the Honda Civic TCR.
Howard Fuller ended his first weekend of competitive racing for three years in fine fashion after besting LMS Racing’s Olli Kangas for fourth.
Jessica Backman put in another strong showing in the final WestCoast machine with sixth, edging out a fine effort from Darelle Wilson’s Vauxhall Astra.
Stewart Lines doubled up in the DSG Trophy stakes after maximising pole position to stay ahead of the sister CUPRA TCR of Carl Swift, though the pairing were split on circuit by Finlay Crocker’s Honda Civic Type R FK8.
Lewis Kent rounded out the field once more after a turbo issue plagued his season opener, with Derek Palmer forced to retire for the second consecutive race.
The championship heads next to Knockhill over the weekend of 12-13 May.
