Aiden Moffat says he’ll “be giving it everything” to convert his front row start for the inaugural TCR UK Series race into victory after a dramatic qualifying session.
A drying line emerged on the otherwise-wet Silverstone surface in the final minutes of the session, with Moffat’s Alfa Romeo Guilietta TCR among those to risk a run on slick tyres.
That paid dividends, with the Laser Tools Racing driver briefly on pole before WestCoast Racing’s Daniel Lloyd put in a last-gasp effort to seize pole.
Nevertheless, Moffat’s pace across each of the five test sessions prior to qualifying have underlined the British Touring Car Championship ace as a likely contender for silverware across the weekend.
“We’ll be giving it everything tomorrow for the win and as long as we’re on the front row, it’s not the end of the world,” commented Moffat to TouringCars.net.
“There’s still quite a bit of ground to be covered with the car but we’re going in the right direction; we’ve got a few more thoughts on that and we’re confident there.
“Everyone at the team has done has a fantastic job so far this weekend and hopefully we’ll be able to kick on from here and bring back some silverware tomorrow.”
