DG Sport Compétition confirms plans to enter WTCR with Peugeot

Belgian team DG Sport Compétition has confirmed that it plans to enter the new FIA World touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2018 with a pair of Peugeot 308 TCR cars.

The team have been a regular in TCR Benelux and the TCR International Series, where in 2017 they contested the latter with a pair of Opel Astra TCR cars.

Having also run the Peugeot 308 Cup Racer in TCR Benelux, Team Manager Christian Jupsin has now confirmed that the team plan to step up to the all-new WTCR with the all-new Peugeot 308 TCR in 2018.

“I am very confident in the potential of the new car produced by Peugeot Sport and I am sure that we will be able to announce our line-up quickly,” said Jupsin.

“The increase of the budget in WTCR compared to the TCR International Series obliges us to postpone the formalization of our participation.

“It is clear that the visibility and return for sponsors and partners will be much higher in the FIA ​​World Touring Car Cup, which will certainly help us to finalize the project.”

The team are in negotiations with drivers to enter the new Cup in 2018 with further announcements expected in due course.
