German outfit BESA Group has placed the first order for the new Vuković Motorsport-developed Renault Mégane TCR, having purchased two of the new cars.
Switzerland-based Vuković Motorsport were earlier this year revealed to be behind the building of the new TCR cars, and now the first customer has been announced.
The new car will be displayed at the Essen Motorsport between the 1st and 10th December 2017.
“I am a true fan of what Milenko Vukovićis putting on the market and the Mégane TCR is exactly what I was looking for,” explained BESA Group CEO and owner Franjo Kovač. “I want my team to perform at the very front and I do not want to make any compromises on quality and performance.
“I am absolutely convinced that the Mégane TCR will establish itself as one of the top reference in the category.”
Milenko Vuković added that the engine, which is being developed by Liechtenstein-based Lehmann Motorentechnik, is almost ready to deliver the 1.8-litre engine, which has been developed in conjunction with technical partner BOSCH Motorsport.
“I am very proud to see how well the Mégane TCR is being received,” added Vuković. “With the engine almost ready to come in the car, I now have all the elements in place to move forward.
“We have already started building further chassis while at the same time, we are preparing for our intensive winter testing programme.”
The Mégane TCR is set to go on sale at a price of €130,000, putting it in line with other TCR cars, and a lead time of six to eight weeks.
