Josh Files joins growing TCR Europe Trophy entry list

Ahead of the newly-formatted TCR Europe Trophy event this coming weekend (October 28th and 29th), Target Competition’s Josh Files will take part in his Honda Civic TCR at Adria International Raceway.

Files, who has won both drivers’ titles in the ADAC TCR Germany Series since its inaugural season last year, along with the Middle East title this season, will have Giacomo Altoè in the same machinery this weekend.

Altoè joined Target Competition for the final round of the TCR Italy Series last weekend, picking up a win and a second place finish in an Audi RS3 LMS. The 17-year-old has also raced for both WestCoast Racing and M1RA in the TCR International Series this year, opting to withdraw after racing in Thailand.

Along with Files, ADAC TCR Germany rookie champion Luca Engstler and Florian Thoma will represent Liqui Moly Team Engstler in their Golf GTi TCRs, along with WRT’s Maxime Potty fielding another Volkswagen, who finished third in the TCR Benelux Series.

Benjamin Lessennes, who took this year’s TCR Benelux drivers’ title, is the third of four Honda drivers confirmed thus far, along with Jens Reno Møller, who took part in all five European rounds of this year’s TCR International Series calendar.

Stian Paulsen, who is running as a privateer, will compete in his SEAT Léon TCR at Adria, with BRC Racing Team fielding seasoned veteran Gabriele Tarquini in a Hyundai i30 N TCR, which won on début in Zheijang just over three weeks ago.

Two other brands will also be represented at the event, with Milovan Vesnić competing in an Audi RS3 LMS, whilst DG Sport Compétition’s Aurélien Comte will take part in the Peugeot 308 Racing Cup car.
