Stefano Comini fastest in wet morning shakedown

Stefano Comini topped the times in a brief and wet morning shakedown session for the TCR International Series on Sunday, ahead of the season opener at the Rustavi International Motorpark in Georgia.

Comini, who will start the day’s first race from sixth on the grid, was a comfortable 0.366 seconds faster than the Volkswagen Golf of Gianni Morbidelli in second.

Track conditions were difficult in the ten-minute session, with light rain continuing to fall at the Rustavi circuit.

Georgian pole-sitter Davit Kajaia was just eighth fastest in his Alfa Romeo, over a second slower than the pace-setting Audi.

Race one begins at 13:30 local time (10:30 BST / 11:30 CEST) and will be streamed live online at www.tcr-series.tv.
