Frédéric Vervisch to drive second Comtoyou Audi for rest of season

Belgian racer Frédéric Vervisch will race the second Comtoyou Racing Audi RS3 LMS in the TCR International Series for the rest of the year, starting at Spa-Francorchamps next weekend.

The 30-year-old Belgian has spent the past few years racing in the Blancpain GT Series for WRT, and he adds TCR to his 2017 outings in the Blancpain GT series, ADAC GT Masters and racing in the VLN.

Previously he won the 2008 German Formula 3 title, before moving into the short-lived Superleague Formula and then on to GT racing in 2013, initially with the Boutsen Ginion Racing team and latterly with Team WRT.

“Frédéric Vervisch will be driving the Audi RS3 LMS TCR for the rest of the season and I’m delighted,” said Team Principal Jean-Michel Baert.

“The desire of the Brabant team is to give the opportunity to a Belgian driver to be able to put himself on the international stage.

“As with my other businesses, loyalty to long-term partners and long-term vision are essential elements for success.  A racing team is managed like a company; it requires vision, capital and human capital, one does not go without the other.”

Vervisch will join reigning champion Stefano Comini in the two-car team for the remaining eight events of the 2017 season.
