Andrew Jordan is aiming to replicate past successes at Brands Hatch this weekend as he contests his first British Touring Car Championship meeting for BMW Pirtek Racing.
Jordan, who has undergone an extensive testing programme to help acquaint himself to the BMW 125i M Sport, has enjoyed a number of race victories at Brands Hatch, the circuit at which he also claimed his only championship title to date.
The Red Bull athlete is expected to have BMW’s new B48 engine in time to use across the opening weekend of the season, with only Rob Collard able to give the unit limited mileage at Media Day.
He will also have the latest specification of Dunlop tyres to contend with around the 1.2 mile Indy configuration of the circuit.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the season ahead for BMW Pirtek Racing,” commented Jordan.
“Since November we’ve undertaken probably the most effective testing programme I’ve ever been involved in and become a Manufacturer team.
“The BMW is a fantastic racing car, handles brilliantly and is very kind on its tyres, so Brands Hatch should be an extremely strong circuit for us.
“I have a good record here; began the 2014 season with a double-win, and really like the layout; Paddock Hill Bend is one of the best corners in the world and there are good overtaking spots all around the track.”
