A contingent of six British Touring Car Championship teams will head to foreign shores to continue their pre-season testing this week [27th February].
West Surrey Racing’s new manufacturer-backed BMW trio are set to head over to Castelloili circuit in Spain for a week’s running alongside fellow championship winners Team Dynamics, their Honda Civic Type R counterparts Eurotech Racing and the newly-formed BTC Norlin Racing squad.
In addition, both Motorbase Performance and Speedworks Motorsport will head to the Algarve and Portimao respectively in search of warmer climates in which to simulate realistic conditions for the season opener at Brands Hatch in April.
Teams will also be faced with the challenge of learning a new compound of Dunlop tyre alongside their aerodynamic and performance changes across the winter break.
Meanwhile in domestic affairs, WIX Racing and their stablemates Laser Tools Racing will head to Snetterton in Norfolk next Wednesday and Thursday, with Handy Motorsport provisionally set to join them.
The only official pre-season test takes place during the Season Launch, scheduled at Donington Park on March 16th.
