Testing continues for the TCR Alfa Romeo

The testing programme for the new Romeo Ferraris-built Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR car has continued in northern Italy, with the car clocking up further mileage near Cremona.

The car was in action at the San Martino del Lago circuit near Cremona, with both Michela Cerruti and Salvatore Tavano taking turns at the wheel of the car, as they had done last week.

“It is a car beyond our expectations,” said both Cerruti and Tavano, who were unanimous in their evaluation of the car.

“We were quickly at ease with the Giulietta, which is very good in balance and braking,” said the drivers. “The engine has an excellent torque and it’s easy to find a good feeling with the car.”

The testing took place in low temperatures, limiting the number of different setup options which could be evaluated.

“We have successfully accomplished the preliminary stage, now we are ready to begin the actual development in view of the 2016 season,” explained CEO Mario Ferraris. “We have planned several thousand kilometres of test to work on performance and reliability and to decide on the final set up.”

Tests will continue over the winter, with the first cars delivered in time for March 2016.
