Mat Jackson expecting ‘different’ race two

Motorbase’s Mat Jackson secured his third British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) win of the 2015 season at Brands Hatch, but is expecting to be challenged for the penultimate race of the year.

“Race two is going to be slightly different, as we’ve got the success ballast on there,” said the Ford Focus driver to TouringCars.net, shortly after taking the win over the 2.433-mile circuit.

“It’s going to be a lot harder, as the grid looks interesting. It’s pretty much the same order with the top six. We’re using the soft tyre in race two, and doing the same again would be nice.”

With the top three from race one, which includes Team BMR’S Árón Smith and Ciceley Motorsport’s Adam Morgan, all three could find that Power Maxed Racing’s Dave Newsham could be in the fight for a possible podium finish.

“Dave’s entitled to have a crack, so bring it on. It doesn’t bother me, as there’s 30 others on the grid,” explained the 34-year-old

“All I can do is the best with what we’ve got. That’s going to be head down, get a great start off the line like in the first one.

“We’ve also got Árón there, along with the rest of them. It should make for a good race.”
