#RacingforHeroes and Josh Cook target BTCC in 2015

Stirling Motorsport Management hopes to compete in the 2015 British Touring Car Championship season after launching a unique project in association with Help for Heroes.

Competing under the #RacingforHeroes banner, the team hopes that a presence across the TOCA package will help to raise both awareness of and funds for the charity, with the eventual project aim of having a team that is entirely operated by veterans, through a development platform. 20% of the team’s sponsorship earnings will be passed directly onto the charity, which helps to support the recovery of injured servicemen and women.

The outfit will submit entries for the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup, Ginetta GT4 Supercup, Renault Clio Cup and the MSA Formula Championship campaigns, but also harbours ambitions of entering the British Touring Car Championship from next season.

Although the make and model of the car that the team hope to use from next season is yet to be revealed, 2012 Clio ‘Rookie’ Cup champion Josh Cook will be employed as the driver.

Team founder Peter Thorpe expressed his pride at the launch of the outfit, given its distinctive identity as a racing operation.

“We as a group are so proud to launch such an exciting team into British Motorsports, in support of Help for Heroes,” said Thorpe. “It’s a unique idea, forging relationships between drivers and sponsors, offering our partners what is the biggest PR and Marketing platform in British Motorsport.”

Bryn Parry, CEO and Co-Founder of Help for Heroes, was confident that the partnership between his charity and Stirling Motorsport Management would be a success both on track and with supporters.

“When Stirling Motorsport approached us with the exciting idea for #RacingforHeroes, we knew immediately they shared our passion and ‘can-do’ attitude,” said Parry. “The team is committed to fundraising and providing opportunities for our wounded through motorsport. We wish them every success and hope British racing fans will get behind the team.”

  1. An entry into the British Touring Car Championship will be a massive boost to the charity, not to mention entries into the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup, Ginetta GT4 Supercup, Renault Clio Cup.
the car that could use in the BTCC could be the New Mini Cooper 5 Door.
