Chevrolet gain weight for Macau

Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1The six RML-built Chevrolet Cruze TC1 cars will gain an additional 10 kg of ballast for the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) season finale in Macau, whilst the compensation weight of all other cars remains unchanged.

As a result of their performances in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzuka, where Cruze drivers scored one win and four podiums, the Chevrolet teams will all have to carry an additional 10 kg of compensation weight to take their total up to 40 kg.

The compensation weight system is based on the lap time performance of each of the four models of TC1 car over the previous three events. Weight is added to the base weight of 1100 kg. As has been the case throughout 2014, the Citroën C-Elysée remains the benchmark and continues to carry an additional 60 kg of ballast.

There is no change to the weight of the Honda or LADA cars – despite the former taking victory on home soil in race two in Japan. LADA, who struggled with straight-line speed at Suzuka, continue to run on the minimum weight.

+ 60 kg : Citroën C-Elysée

+ 40 kg : Chevrolet RML Cruze

+ 30 kg : Honda Civic
