Andrew Jordan ruled out of qualifying

Andrew Jordan has been ruled out of competing in today’s British Touring Car Championship qualifying session at Snetterton, after an incident in first practice.

Jordan’s Pirtek Honda Civic suffered damage after he went off at Riches towards the end of the first session, with the incident causing the session to be red flagged and subsequently finished early.

The reigning champion was then forced to miss second practice as he was taken to hospital for precautionary checks, but despite returning to the circuit he was not cleared to take part in qualifying.

The 25-year-old is currently third in the drivers’ standings, and will be reassessed tomorrow to see if he is fit to race. If he is declared so, he will be allowed to start from the tear of the field.
